Earnings

Payments are not live yet. During the preview everything is free and no money changes hands. The figures in your creator dashboard are projections, computed from real usage with the rules below.

This article explains the model we have designed and are building towards, so you can judge whether publishing is worth your time.

The model

  • Members on the planned Pro plan pay a monthly subscription. The planned price is USD 9 per month.
  • 60% of each Pro member's subscription goes to creators.
  • That 60% is split only among the skills that member actually used during the month, weighted by the number of distinct days each skill was used.
  • The remaining 40% covers Vander Labs' hosting, review, payments and margin.

Why per member

Most platforms pool all subscription money and split it by total plays, so a few very popular items take almost everything. Vander Labs splits each member's money separately. If a member uses only your skill all month, their whole 60% goes to you, even if nobody else uses your skill. Your income depends on being useful to the people who actually use you, not on winning the whole catalog.

A worked example

A Pro member pays USD 9. 60% of that is USD 5.40. In one month their AI loads your skill on 10 different days and another creator's skill on 5 different days. That is 15 skill-days. You receive 10/15 of 5.40, which is USD 3.60. The other creator receives USD 1.80. If the member had used only your skill, you would receive USD 5.40.

What counts as use

  • A load_skill call for your skill through a Pro member's connector counts as use on that day. Loading the same skill ten times in one day counts once; distinct days are what matter.
  • list_my_skills and search_skills calls do not count. Only an actual load does.
  • Free plan members do not pay, so their usage does not generate earnings, though it does show in your statistics.
  • Artificial usage, such as your own accounts loading your skill to inflate counts, does not count and may end your creator access.

What you see

The creator dashboard on the Creator studio shows, per skill: total loads, distinct members, usage by day and the projected share. It never shows which members. The projected share applies the rules above to real usage; it is not a promise of payment.

Payouts

  • Payouts begin once payments launch. The payout method is still being decided; it will most likely be a card or payout provider.
  • Before the first payout we will publish the final payout terms (minimum amount, timing, currency, fees) and ask you to accept them. We may also need identity and tax details, as the provider and the law require.
  • Until then, the Creator Agreement is the agreement that applies, and it says the same as this page.
