Vander Labs

Creator agreement

This agreement applies to anyone who submits a skill to Vander Labs. It adds to the Terms of Service; where the two differ on publishing, this agreement applies. If something is unclear, ask through the Contact page before you submit.

1. Becoming a creator

Any member can become a creator by submitting a skill from the Creator studio. There is no application, except for the Master tier (section 10). Your public profile (handle, display name, bio, website, avatar) is shown on every skill you publish.

2. What a skill is

A skill is a SKILL.md file (name, description and instructions, see How to write a skill) together with its metadata: title, subtitle, summary, category, tags, what your AI learns, steps, safety notes, an optional trailer and a version number. The metadata is shown to members; the SKILL.md is delivered to their AI clients when loaded.

3. What you promise about every skill

  • It is yours or properly licensed. You wrote the instructions, or you hold a license that lets you publish them here and let us deliver them to members' AI clients. Quoting short passages with attribution is fine. Republishing someone else's skill or document is not.
  • A blueprint is honest about evidence. Facts tagged [verified] have a source and a date, [tried] items were tested, everything else is tagged [hypothesis], and the stage you choose (research only, built, launched, earning) is true.
  • It holds no secrets or personal data. No keys, passwords, tokens, contact details, customer data or names of private people, in the file or on the page. This applies to drafts your AI saves for you too: you are responsible for what you submit.
  • It works as described. The title, summary, what your AI learns and steps describe what the instructions actually do, and you have tested the skill with at least one supported AI client.
  • It is not harmful. No instructions for illegal acts, for harming people, for getting around safety measures in an AI client, or for deceiving or manipulating anyone.
  • No secrets, no malware. No API keys, passwords, personal data of others, hidden instructions, prompt injection aimed at other tools, or links to malicious content.
  • No misleading claims. No invented credentials, fake results or guarantees of outcomes.
  • Safety notes where needed. If following the skill could cause harm when done wrong (electrical work, medication, finance, security), say so in the safety notes.

4. Review and statuses

Every submission is reviewed by the Vander Labs team before it is published. We check the points in section 3 and may test the skill with an AI client. A skill moves through these statuses:

  • Draft: visible only to you. Edit freely.
  • In review: submitted and waiting for us.
  • Published: live in the catalog and available to members' AI clients.
  • Rejected: not published. The review note explains why. Edit and resubmit as often as you like.
  • Unlisted: still delivered to members who already saved it, but hidden from browsing and search. Used for skills under investigation, or when you ask us to hide a skill without breaking members' libraries.

Review is at our reasonable discretion. We aim to review within a few days but do not guarantee a turnaround time. We may ask for changes before publishing.

5. You own your skill

You keep all rights to your skills. Publishing on Vander Labs does not transfer ownership to us or to members.

So that the service can work, you grant Vander Labs a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, index and deliver the skill to members' AI clients for as long as the skill is published. The royalties in section 8 are the only payment due for this license. A skill is exclusive to Vander Labs only if it is covered by a signed Master agreement (section 10); then it is exclusive for 24 months. Because an AI client keeps the text it loaded in the member's conversation history, you also allow already-delivered copies to remain there after you unpublish. We do not get the right to sell your skill separately, publish it elsewhere or claim it as ours.

You can unpublish at any time by setting the skill to draft, subject to any Master agreement you have signed. Delivery stops at once.

6. Trailers

  • A trailer is an optional YouTube video shown on the skill page through the privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). It loads only when a member clicks play.
  • You must own the video or have the right to use it as a trailer. If it is not from your own channel, you must credit the channel.
  • The trailer must be about the skill and must not mislead about what the skill does.
  • We may remove a trailer on a rights-holder's request, or if it breaks these rules, without taking the skill down. More in Trailers.

7. Updates and versions

You can edit a published skill. Edits go through review again and, when approved, replace the published version under a new version number. Members' AI clients load the latest published version. Keep changes honest to the title and summary; a skill that quietly becomes something else will be unlisted.

8. Earnings

Members pay for Pro or Ultra by the month or the year, and companies pay for Vault seats. Royalties come from those payments.

  • Membership. 50% of each Pro or Ultra member's net fee (what Vander Labs receives after Paddle's fee and taxes) is split among the public skills that member's AI loaded that month, weighted by the number of distinct days each skill was used. A member who used only your skill sends their whole 50% to you.
  • Vault. 20% of each Vault seat's net fee (the team's net fee divided by its seats) is split the same way across the public skills that seat used. Private company skills earn nothing.
  • Catalog licensing. Licensing the catalog to AI platforms is not offered yet. Before it starts we will update this agreement as section 14 describes, and the skill's owner will receive 50% of what a skill earns that way.
  • Yearly plans pay royalties every month: the net fee is spread across the months of the billing period. A refund lowers the royalties of the month it covered.
  • What counts. Only a full load by the member's AI on a given day counts, once per day. Previews, use on Free, trial and complimentary plans, your own use of your own skill, and searches and listings do not count.
  • Artificial usage (for example, accounts loading your skill to inflate counts) does not count and may end your creator access.

A worked example is in Earnings.

9. Payouts

  • Statements. On the 1st of each month we compute your statement for the previous month, in US dollars. It is held for 30 days for refunds and chargebacks, then becomes available.
  • Minimum and timing. We pay monthly once your available balance reaches USD 25. A smaller balance carries over until it does.
  • Methods. Wise, PayPal, Payoneer, or bank transfer (to a bank in Indonesia, or by SWIFT abroad). You enter your payout details in Studio.
  • Fees. Fees charged by your receiving bank or payout provider are yours.
  • Identity and tax. We may ask for identity and tax information before paying. Tax may be withheld where the law requires, for example Indonesian withholding tax on royalties to creators abroad.
  • Clawback. Amounts refunded or charged back after a payout may be deducted from your later earnings. We may also withhold or reverse amounts connected to fraud, artificial usage or breaches of this agreement.

10. Creator tiers and Master agreements

  • Contributor. Open to anyone. Every skill is reviewed. Contributors earn royalties under section 8.
  • Practitioner. For skills with a proven outcome score. Royalties, plus a Practitioner badge and a higher place in search.
  • Master. By invitation, or apply through the Contact page with links to your work. A Master creator signs a separate Master agreement, which covers: exclusivity of the skills it names to Vander Labs for 24 months; an advance of USD 5,000 to 50,000, recouped from royalties (your royalties repay the advance before further payouts); co-production with the Studio team; and first release to Ultra members, 90 days before Pro.

Exclusivity applies only under a signed Master agreement. Where a Master agreement and this agreement differ, the Master agreement applies.

11. What you see

Your creator dashboard shows, per skill, total loads, distinct members and usage by day, and your earnings, statements and payouts. You see aggregate numbers only (loads, distinct members, outcome rate and earnings). It never shows member identities, which members used or rated your skills, or their conversations.

12. What we may do

  • Unlist or remove a skill that breaks section 3, is the subject of a credible rights complaint, or draws harm or abuse reports, and tell you why.
  • End your creator access for repeated or serious violations.

13. Ending

You can unpublish or delete any skill at any time. Deleting your account removes your published skills. Earnings due to you under sections 8 and 9 are paid out first: while any are held or waiting for payout, the account can not be deleted, and you can ask us through the contact page to settle them early. Sections 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply where relevant.

14. Changes

We may change this agreement as the service develops. We will update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before changes take effect. Keeping a skill published after that date means you accept the new version.

15. Contact
