Trailers
A trailer is an optional short video shown at the top of your skill page. Members use it to see what the skill does before they save it. A skill with a trailer is easier to judge, so it is worth the hour it takes.
What you need
- A video on YouTube. Vander Labs does not host video; it embeds YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), which loads only when a member clicks play.
- The right to use it. Either it is your video, or you have permission from whoever owns it. If the video is not from your own channel, you must credit the channel.
- A video that is about the skill. A trailer that shows something the skill does not do will be removed.
Adding a trailer
- On YouTube, open your video, click Share and copy the link. Make sure the video is public or unlisted; private videos will not play for members.
- On the Creator studio, open your skill and paste the link into the trailer field.
- If the video is not from your own channel, add the channel name as the credit.
- Save and submit. The trailer shows on your skill page once the skill is published, or republished after review if it was already live.
What works
- One to three minutes. Show the task being done, the result, and one moment where the skill's judgement matters.
- Screen recordings of the AI following the skill beat talking heads.
- Say what the skill is for in the first ten seconds.
Rights and removal
We take rights seriously because members and other creators do. If a rights-holder asks us to remove a video, we will, and we will tell you. Repeatedly adding trailers you do not have the right to use ends your creator access. If you believe a trailer on Vander Labs uses your video without permission, write to us through the Contact page with the skill and the video link.
Privacy
Because we use the privacy-enhanced player, YouTube receives nothing about a member until they press play. When they do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that playback. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
